In the afternoon of April 18^th, at the conference room of Beijing Hotel, the president of China Film International (CFI) –Stanley brainstorm how to achieve the integration of art and technology in comprehensive way together with international industry movers and sharks: Jeffrey Katzenberg—Chief Executive Officer and a Co-Founder and Director of DreamWorks Animation SKG, Rob Minkoff—well-known American director and producer, who has directed “Lion King” and other famous films, Jan Heinze—Chief Operating Officer and Executive producer of PIXOMONDO, Kinson Tsang—veteran Hong Kong sound engineer and Raymond Zhou famous writer and film critics.  

At the big screen time, the indicator of the film industry has been leaning to technology. The chairman of the China Film Co., Ltd.—La PeiKang mentioned in his speech: each time when the film step forward, it is always accompanied by the improvement of science and technology. From black and white to color, from silent to sound, from analog to digital, from 2D to 3D and even more like, 4D and 5D, it can be concluded that the technology is the foundation of the film; the driving force for the development of the film. The creator can well illustrate the film content and connotation by using science and technology; hence, the film can be presented in a perfect way, in which the audiences can get better experiences.

Being a senior filmmakers working for thirty-five years, Stanley sees the film is the art of dream; the beautiful dream would depend on the final rendering. Katzenberg believes that the combination of modern technology and traditional human innovation can push the film to another golden age.

The development of technology gives the film certain creation, but also brings the challenge: how to perfectly integrate the technics into the story. It has been deeply discussed by all the guests, they all agree that the film eventually have to tell the story, it is the art of storytelling, the best using of technology is the ability of integrate technology into the storytelling in seamless way.

The agreement between China Film Co., Ltd and Oriental DreamWorks and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. of co-production an animation film—“Kungfu Panda 3” was inked on the forum; this is the first co-production animation film between China and America. By using the significant amount of advanced technology, the film will present to the audience a humor and touching story with lots of Chinese elements. This demonstrates that in the modern film industry, meshing the technology and art together will create the film legend.
